New Zealand Fantail / Pīwakawaka - 3-Layer Framed Wall Art

The pīwakawaka has a way of turning up when you are out in the bush: quick, curious and impossible to ignore. This design captures that sense of movement, with the bird perched among a flowering branch and its tail fanned wide.

Built in three layers, the walnut-stained birch artwork overlay sits over a crisp white cast-acrylic middle layer and a dark grey-stained timber backing. Light catches the acrylic through the fine cut detail, creating clean contrast and shadow depth that changes as the piece is viewed from different angles.

Measuring 320 mm high x 215 mm wide overall, with a visible artwork area of 305 mm x 195 mm, it is sized to make an impact without needing a large wall.

Framed in hardwax-finished macrocarpa, each piece is designed, made and finished in our Helensville workshop. Natural timber grain and hand finishing make every piece subtly individual.
