Fiordland Crested Penguin / Tawaki - 3-Layer Framed Wall Art
Free NZ shipping over $150 · Afterpay available
The tawaki is unlike any other penguin in the range of New Zealand wildlife: a crested bird of surf, steep coast and rainforest. This hero piece places the Fiordland crested penguin within a detailed coastal habitat of native foliage, rock and shoreline forms.
The white chest and eye detail are given particular impact by the crisp white cast-acrylic middle layer beneath the walnut-stained birch artwork overlay. Across the wider scene, the acrylic shows through every fine opening, creating a bright counterpoint to the dark grey-stained timber backing and a genuine sense of layered depth.
Measuring 320 mm high x 215 mm wide overall, with a visible artwork area of 305 mm x 195 mm, it is sized to make an impact without needing a large wall.
Framed in hardwax-finished macrocarpa, each piece is designed, made and finished in our Helensville workshop. Natural timber grain and hand finishing make every piece subtly individual.
For every Native Bird Wall Art piece sold, furnACE sets aside $2 for quarterly donations supporting New Zealand native-bird conservation.
