This original furnACE design is created from individually laser-cut layers of timber, carefully assembled to build the characteristic colouring, texture and expression of the German Shepherd.

This black version uses dark-stained timber with deep charcoal and black layered detailing, giving the portrait a much moodier look while still allowing the timber grain to show through. Gloss black acrylic is used for the nose, with detailed acrylic eyes and teeth, while the timber tongue is finished in a rich volcanic red stain.

Set against a light timber background and finished in a handcrafted solid American white oak frame, the layered construction gives the portrait genuine depth and changes subtly as the light moves across it.
