A bold centrepiece designed to anchor a room. A kea surveys the Southern Alps in layered timber, framed by tussock, native grasses and harebells. The artwork is built in two layers so the design stands proud of the background, and the shadow lines shift as the light moves through the day. This is the piece that commands a wall.

• Dimensions: 750 × 490mm
• Two layers of 4mm Okoumé plywood: natural base with a walnut-stained top layer for depth and contrast
• Solid American Walnut frame, 15 × 20mm, mitred and rebated, finished with Gilly's hard wax oil
• Artwork spray-finished with Cabothane clear matt varnish
• Fitted with two D-ring hangers and a strung picture line for level, secure hanging on standard picture hooks
• Designed and made in Helensville, New Zealand
